Rites of Passage
Combining ceremony, tradition, & spirituality Adventure Coyote offers a rites of passage experience to mark & celebrate the transitions in life. We offer an opportunity to find balance, connection, peace, healing, & honoring. Rites of passage may include changes such as coming of age, joining of life partners, change in a family, moving into the elder status, or saying farewell. The rite of passage program can be a one, two or three day experience. Adventure Coyote will create a personal and appropriate program that will provide a sense of meaning for a significant journey.
Ceremonial Objects
Ceremonial objects symbolize our spiritual journey through life. They raise awareness about the deep spiritual significance of the ordinary things in everyday life. We will create one of the following:
~ Drum Making: Drums allow us to center ourselves in ceremony, groups or by ourselves. They help bring all our energy together, allowing us to let go of the everyday world and enter a sacred space. Drumming is one of the ways we feel our heartbeat, mother earth’s heartbeat, and the heartbeat of the universe.
~ Shield Making: Sheilds offer protection whether it is physical, mental, spiritual, or emotional. Shields can be used to form an alliance with one’s animal totem, tell stories, or record important events.
~ Mask Making: While wearing a mask you can lose yourself and become what is being portrayed by the mask. We make a ‘living or lie’ mask and a ‘living your truth’ mask.
~ Staff Making: Staffs are used for energy balancing, dream work, healing, connecting with spirit, or ceremonies. They are sometimes used as a talking stick. Hiking or running with your staff is a way to honor nature and make medicine.
